The star has given the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to save the UK's small music venues.

Fender was presented with the award on 16 October as his new release his work was named the outstanding release of the previous year.

He has opted to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the vital role local spots fulfilled in his initial steps.

"I couldn't be pursuing what I am doing today if it weren't for all the gigs I performed around the region, and further afield, when I was beginning," remarked the artist. "These venues are renowned, but they are in difficulty."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these venues have permanently closed – approximately 16 percent of the total UK scene.

In the last year, well-known musicians such as the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its attempts to help venues survive, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which benefits independent venues.

He also participated, collecting more than £100,000 on his recent tour to assist thirty-eight small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The money assisted venues that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges caused by water damage, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and sound issues.

Some locations obtained funding support in improving amenities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted performers and concertgoers.

"The concept that funds from concerts in large arenas supports the independent spots, where it begins for musicians like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has commented.

The musician is among several artists to donate his honor prize money to charitable organizations.

When the band won the trophy in the mid-90s for their release the album, frontman Cocker announced that the band would donate their cash to the charity the charity.

That year, artist she split her award among multiple charities, including the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.

"I also donated a £1,000 to the center, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked better apparatus," she shared with outlets.

In recent years, Ezra Collective contributed their winnings to the local youth club that supported their group, in addition to other grassroots music organisations.

Additionally winners that year M People donated their winnings to a MS organization after a close contact was found to have the condition.

"Receiving the award was sufficient," stated singer Heather Small. "The money was the bonus but we could do without the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our success affected another person's life."

Last week, the Music Venues Trust shared it had protected several grassroots venues in the South East, by placing them under public stewardship.

One venue in that area and The Croft in the city were bought under the public acquisition scheme, which is funded by a national body and enthusiasts who purchase "stakes" in the properties.
